Introduction

You’re ready to carry. You’ve farmed up all game, you’ve avoided feeding the enemies, and you’ve just finished your core build. You see a teamfight mid and start to head towards it. As you walk towards the teamfight, you notice out of the corner of your eye a woman in yellow. As the bolt of light falls from the sky, you desperately try to avoid it. Unfortunately, it hits you. You sigh, as Leona keeps you frozen just long enough for the enemy team to demolish you.

Leona is a tanky support who excels at initiating. Through her vast amount of CC abilities, she can stun an entire enemy team, then keep them locked down for several hugely important seconds. She’s very tanky and has decent base damage. In low ranks, it may seem difficult to play against an enemy who can’t be killed and kills you as soon as she lands one of her many stuns.

However, there are ways you can counter Leona easily, and in this guide, I’ll teach you to make this warriors life into an endless dusk.

Abilities

Passive – Adrenaline Rush

Passive – Sunlight

Leona’s abilities all place a mark upon enemies. Whenever allies damage these enemies, the mark is consumed and deals magic damage.

Q – Infected Cleaver

Q – Shield of Daybreak

Leona’s next basic attack gains bonus attack range, deals bonus magic damage, and stuns for 1 second.

W – Burning Agony (Toggle)

W – Eclipse

Leona gains a shield of sunlight, gaining armor and magic resistance for the next 3 seconds and erupting afterwards, dealing damage to all enemies nearby. Hitting an enemy with the eruption extends the duration of her shield.

E – Masochism

E – Zenith Blade

Leona throws a solar image of her sword, dealing magic damage to all enemies it passes through. If she damages an enemy champion, she’ll dash to the last one struck and root them.

R – Sadism

R – Solar Flare

Leona calls down a beam of light in a target location, stunning all enemies in the center and slowing those on the edges. This beam also deals magic damage. Leona’s next few basic attacks deal magic damage.

Our Top Counter Tips For Leona

In lane, Leona has a very strong level 2 power spike. Be careful of any cheese tactics she might use.

Leona has a very strong level 6 power spike as well.

Leona with her shield on is very tanky. Wait for it to expire to engage.

Leona’s Zenith Blade dashes her to the last enemy hit, so it might be smarter in some cases to actually have your tank behind you, so that she dashes behind the tank instead of you.

Leona deals a surprising amount of damage if you stand near to her. Don’t focus her if you’re going in an all in, because she’ll be tanky, but don’t stand next to her either.

The key to surviving their bot lane bursting you is to avoid her Zenith Blade, which has a very telegraphed animation. Place a ward in the bush where Leona is waiting if you have slow reflexes.

Leona’s Solar Flare has a surprisingly long range. Don’t stand in the front line of your team to poke, or she can ult you from a distance.

The key to surviving their bot lane bursting you is to avoid her Zenith Blade, which has a very telegraphed animation. Place a ward in the bush where Leona is waiting if you have slow reflexes.

At early levels, once Leona has used all her spells she’s kinda useless. Focus the enemy adc if you want to continue the fight, then focus Leona.

Leona can only initiate, not disengage. If you start a fight, you want to initiate on their ADC, because she won’t be able to do too much to protect them.

Champions That Counter Leona

Morgana Alistair Counter Champion

Morgana

Your black shield can remove basically all of Leona’s utility, and your binding can catch out either her or her ADC, and she won’t be able to save them. If she engages, you can counter engage with your ult. Consider buying Solari early if you fall behind, in order to remove her burst.

Nidalee

Janna

Leona is the queen of engage and you are the queen of disengage. All your tools can stop her. Just remember to never be the one caught out. Only let your ADC be caught, because you can save them better than you can save yourself.

Xerath Azir Counter Champion

Twitch

If you get an early lead, you can destroy her. She can’t move out of your W easily, and you can assassinate her ADC if you turn invisible. Go a crit build or go Blade of the Ruined King if you’re behind.

Ziggs Azir Counter Champion

Vayne

You can dodge most of her abilities with your Tumble. She also can’t itemize against your true damage, so she’ll be forced to build utility items instead of tankiness. Build Statikk Shiv + Infinity Edge, or Blade of the Ruined King if you’re behind.

Itemization

Quicksilver Sash

Locket of the Iron Solari

Leona is tanky, and has a decent amount of magic damage burst at early levels. Early health items like Sightstone are decent at avoiding her burst, but if you really fall behind, an Iron Solari is good as well. ADCs should only choose damage items.

Introduction

You’re walking to the teamfight near dragon in order to help out your team. You notice a straggler with low health, so you start to chase them into the bush. Suddenly, something catches at your feet. You look down to see a ring of light around you. As Lux charges her laser, you curse. The laser goes off, you die, and she laughs. She laughs. She laughs. “Ha-ha-ha-ee!”

Lux is a long range mage who deals a good amount of damage from range. She has a decent amount of utility, but she’s primarily a nuker.

It may seem unfair to be nuked from a bush where you had no vision, but it’s fairly easily to stop Lux from reaching this power level. In this guide, I’ll be teaching you to send this girl back to school.

Abilities

Passive – Adrenaline Rush

Passive – Iceborn

Lux’s offensive abilities will mark enemies. Her basic attacks and Final Spark consume the mark, dealing extra magic damage

Q – Infected Cleaver

Q – Ice Shard

Lux releases a sphere of light in a line that deals magic damage to the first two enemies hit and roots them.

W – Burning Agony (Toggle)

W – Ring of Frost

Lux shields herself and throws out her wand in a line, shielding ally champions in its path. It then boomerangs back, adding another shield to all ally champions hit.

E – Masochism

E – Glacial Path

Lux sends a ball of light to a target location, slowing enemies around the ball. Upon reactivating this ability or after a few seconds, the ball explodes and deals magic damage to all enemies nearby.

R – Sadism

R – Frozen Tomb

After channeling for 1 second, Lux fires a laser which deals magic damage to all enemies hit.

Our Top Counter Tips For Lux

Lux is pretty bad at farming early, because her Lucent Singularity can’t clear waves. Keep her pushed in.

Lux has very long ranges on her spells, but a good amount of her damage requires her to auto attack.

Lux players will often build Mejai’s, as they’ll be too far back to be killed in fights. Removing the Mejai’s stacks should be a priority.

Lux’s E and ult both take a second or so to charge. Save your dash for when she casts them, or be very careful to not be hit by her Q.

Lux is pretty good at roaming, because she can affect fights with her ultimate from far away. If she ever tries to push up, it may mean she’s going to roam. Keep her pushed in.

Lux has very low mobility, and no way to avoid ganks except for her Q. If she’s cast it, immediately engage.

Champions That Counter Lux

Olaf

Aurelion Sol

Push in every single wave. If you fall low on health, go back to base and use your E to come back to lane quickly. Be sure to roam often. It’s also very difficult for Lux to avoid a fully charged Q, so try doing that if your jungler is in the area.

Nidalee

Jayce

You have equal amounts of poke, but far more burst at early levels. Be sure to keep her away from minions at early levels, and do plenty of trading.

Xerath Azir Counter Champion

Xerath

You can clear waves far easier than her, and she can’t easily dodge your spells. You also outrange her with your ult. If she roams, countergank her with your ult.

Introduction

Blitzcrank is a high pressure support who is infamous in lower elo's, and has a high amount of pick potential. With his abilites Overdrive, Rocket Grab and Power Fist, he has a combo that can lead to the death of almost any squishy in the game, considering he has sufficient followup. These abilities allow Blitzcranks roaming game to be strong, when his team is looking for picks or he's looking for a lane to gank and makes his early game among one of the best in the game in terms of solo que supports.

Abilities

Passive – Adrenaline Rush

Passive – Mana Barrier

When Blitzcrank receives damage which brings him below 20% maximum health, he shields himself for 50% of his current mana for up to 10 seconds.

Q – Infected Cleaver

Q – Rocket Grab

Blitzcrank fires his right hand in the target direction, Airborne icon pulling the first enemy hit to him, stunning them for 0.5 seconds, and dealing magic damage.

W – Burning Agony (Toggle)

W – Overdrive

Blitzcrank puts himself into overdrive, gaining bonus attack speed for 5 seconds and bonus movement speed that decays to 10% over the duration.

When Overdrive ends, Blitzcrank is slowed by 30% for 1.5 seconds.

E – Masochism

E – Power Fist

Blitzcrank's next basic attack within 5 seconds deals 100% AD bonus physical damage and Airborne icon knocks up his target for 1 second.

Power Fist resets Blitzcrank's autoattack timer.

R – Sadism

R – Static Field

PASSIVE: While Static Field is not on cooldown, Blitzcrank fires a lightning bolt at a random nearby visible enemy every 2.5 seconds, dealing magic damage.

ACTIVE: Blitzcrank detonates his static field, dealing magic damage to nearby enemies and Silence icon silencing them for 0.5 seconds.

Our Top Counter Tips For Braum

Blitzcrank lives and dies on his Q. If he misses it, he has to sit through it's long cooldown, and when it's down, he's just another melee support. A really bad one at that, with only 'Power Fist' for catches or peeling. You can harass him endlessly as long as you play around his Q's cooldown.

If Blitzcrank fails to land his grab on a priority target in a grouping scenario, his team is far weaker, given the fact that most of Blitzcranks utility lies in his pull. The only thing he might offer is the static field, but the damage isn't high and the 0.5 second silence, while good, won't likely be game changing in that situation, with your backline out of range. Not to mention that after he uses it, the entire fight is a 4v5. Fight when his pull is down.

Wards are key to preventing Blitzcrank from snowballing lanes early. As the game goes on, the threat a long Blitzcrank poses is lessened, but early, the mitigation of his pressure via vision is a neccessity. Ward the river religiously as the mid laner, and keep eyes on the blue buff to make sure your team can pick off Blitzcrank in that situation.

Champions That Counter Braum

Morgana Alistair Counter Champion

Morgana

She can just Black Shield the Rocket Grab, and if you pull her in the midgame she's just going to Soul Shackles the entire enemy team and survive because of her Zhonyas and then they're going to lose the teamfight. She just counters him really hard in both laning and teamfights, and makes it a bad time for him.

Lucian Jhin Counter Champion

Leona

She's better at fighting. If Blitz pulls her, she'll ult his team. If Blitz pulls her in lane, she'll ult his carry. She'll just counter-engage every single time, and because she's made of CC, she'll do it better than Blitz can. Even in the case that she doesn't have her ult, she'll probably just dive in with the pulled target, especially if it's remotely tanky. There's no point at which Blitzcrank outdoes her.

Lucian Jhin Counter Champion

Ezreal

Ezreal hits E, and even if the hook lands, he's going to complete the shift and be safe. He also builds CDR and mana, and his Q reduces his abilities cooldowns, so he can just keep being safe.

Sivir Jhin Counter Champion

Sivir

Hit E, deny the pull, there's no engage from Blitzcrank. She gains mana back, which gains lane presence and the potency of her push and poke. Even if he misses the pull and you burn the spell shield, he still doesn't have the pull, and is now vulnerable. She can also help his team run him down upon a spotted roam or invade.

Banshee's Veil Cho’Gath Counter Item

Banshee's Veil

Being a support he usually doesn't build damaging items, what's important is the wards. You need wards to ensure that he doesn't successfully gank your lanes early and snowball the game for his team. It's possible that a Mikaels can be justified, but by the time a support can afford one, if a Blitz pulls a squishy, they're typically dead before it matters anyway, and if he pulls a tank, it's a tank and it'll survive long enough to get it's CC off typically.

Introduction

Braum is a tanky support that comes full of peel and CC for priority targets. He's unique in the way that he can literally defend another champion by taking damage for them and stopping the damage at him, while reducing it. This is coupled with his passive that gives his teammates the chance to stun targets, and one can see why he's a consistently strong support and reasonably difficult to play against.

Abilities

Passive – Adrenaline Rush

Passive – Concussive Blows

Braum's basic attacks and Winter's Bite each apply Concussive Blows to his target for 4 seconds, stacking up to 4 times. Once the first stack has been applied, any allied champion's basic attack on the target generates an additional stack.

Upon reaching 4 stacks, the target is Stunned

This effect cannot occur on the same target more than once every few seconds, but during this immunity period affected targets instead take bonus magic damage from Braum's basic attacks and Winter's Bite.

Q – Infected Cleaver

Q – Winters Bite

Braum propels ice from his shield in the target direction, dealing magic damage to the first enemy hit and Slow icon slowing them

W – Burning Agony (Toggle)

W – Stand Behind Me

Braum dashes to the target ally, positioning himself between them and the closest enemy champion, gaining bonus armor and bonus magic resistance for 3 seconds. If his target is a champion, they also receive the same bonuses.

E – Masochism

E – Unbreakable

Braum raises his shield in the target direction, creating a barrier that intercepts incoming non-turret enemy projectiles and reduces the damage he takes through the shield. The first instance of damage blocked by his shield is negated completely.

While his shield is raised, Braum also gains 10% bonus movement speed and is Ghost ghosted.

R – Sadism

R – Glacial Fissure

Braum leaps into the air and slams his shield into the ground, creating a fissure in the target direction that deals magic damage to enemies as well as those around him.

Enemy champions hit in the close vicinity are knocked up for 1.5 seconds, while enemies hit in the line are knocked up for 0.25 seconds.

If no enemy champions are hit in the point-blank area, the first enemy champion hit in the line is knocked up for the full duration.

A field of ice then remains at the fissure's location for 4 seconds, slowing enemies within.

Our Top Counter Tips For Braum

Both Braum and anyone he's trying to protect are significantly less protected while Unbreakable is on cooldown, and it's lowest cooldown (Without CDR) is 10 seconds, meaning that there is an ample window on which to make a move onto Braum or his team.

Keep minions between you and Braum. It'll force him to have to walk up onto you to land his Winters Bite, and walking into someones minion wave is an easy way to end up staring at Grey Screen.

Hold your long range ultimates for a little while after beating Braums team in a fight, shooting them a few seconds late can easily net you a kill if life bars are blinking, but if you shoot them too fast, you risk having them blocked with Unbreakable.

Champions That Counter Braum

Caitlyn Jhin Counter Champion

Vayne

Braum can't reduce true damage, and Vayne can't stop dealing true damage, not that she'd want to stop. She also reaches the point where she can just walk around and three shot things, and if he tries some sort of engage she can condemn him away. Note that he will still have pressure on Vayne very early on.

Lucian Jhin Counter Champion

Karma

He can't block and dodge every Karma Q, she falls in the category of champions that "Deal damage more often than he can throw his shield up" not to mention the safety she can bring her AD Carry with a speed boost and shield, if Braum should try and go aggressive on her or her Carry, she can simply walk away.

Lucian Jhin Counter Champion

Tristana

Scaling AA range, a good escape and a way to knockback Braum if he should try to engage makes Tristana a good pick into him. Not to mention, that in lane she can jump behind Braums shield to finish off a low health AD Carry, circumventing one of his strongest points early.

Soraka Alistair Counter Champion

Soraka

Soraka gets around Braums strong defenses and peel by never fighting him ever. She doesn't ever have to do anything, and the lane will be ridiculously passive the only chance Braum has is if he something like a Draven and they can kill Soraka before level four, and even then, that would take some serious mispositioning on Raka's side.

Nautilus is a massive tank of a champion who brings survivablilty and CC to a team. At all stages of the game, Nautilus has higher than average survivability and a lot of Crowd Control to disrupt teamfights with, most often targeting priority backliners when it comes to group engagements, and trying to scatter the enemy team to make the carries easier targets to eliminate

Abilities

Passive – Adrenaline Rush

Passive – Gathering Fire

Reduces Mantra's cooldown each time Karma damages an enemy champion with one of her abilities (Half-effect for Karma's basic attacks)

Q – Infected Cleaver

Q – Inner Flame

Fires a blast of energy that explodes upon enemy contact, dealing magic damage and slowing Movement Speed by 25% for 1.5 seconds.

Mantra Bonus - Soulflare: Deals additional magic damage and leaves a circle of flame that slows enemies. After 1.5 seconds the circle erupts, dealing magic damage to enemies in the area

W – Burning Agony (Toggle)

W – Focused Resolve

Links Karma to an enemy champion or monster, revealing them, and magic damage over 2 seconds, rooting them in place if the link is not broken.

Mantra Bonus - Renewal: Karma is healed for a percentage of her missing health. If the link is not broken or the target dies, the root duration is increased and Karma is healed once again

E – Masochism

E – Inspire

Target ally gains a shield, granting Movement Speed for 1.5 seconds and absorbing damage for 4 seconds.

Mantra Bonus - Defiance: The shield overflows with energy, absorbing additional damage. Nearby allied champions gain shields that absorb a percentage as much as the initial target's shield. All champions shielded gain movement speed for 1.5 seconds.

R – Sadism

R – Mantra

Karma empowers her next ability to do an additional effect. Mantra is available at level 1 and does not require a skill point.

Our Top Counter Tips For Karma

Before Karma has a respectable amount of CDR, her abilities have long cooldowns, and she is reliant on them for any sort of lane dominance. Try and play defensively early, and punish her for missing the abilities.

Karma is strong early, but falls off late, simply surviving a lane with her in it is a win, since, unless you're playing a utility champion yourself, you'll outdamage her as the game goes on.

In the botlane, Karma has a hard time against kill lanes like Blitzcrank/Lucian. You can use this information to pressure her, and alleviate the pressure against your bot lane. Every minute you're not pressured is a little less damage she does.

Champions That Counter Karma

Fiora Aatrox Counter Champion

Varus

He never has to trade against her, and he does so much damage when he lands autos and abilities thanks to his Blighted Quiver. She also has a hard time dealing with his ultimate since it's hard CC and she has no dashes. She can't do anything about it for an ADC she's supporting and has a hard time dealing with it herself, since if he lands it, he'll just kill her.

Nasus Counter Tips 2

Janna

What support Karma does really well is poke, what Janna counters really well is poke. She'll just hit E on whoever is the most exposed target for the Karma poke, and completely negate her ability to pressure as a result.

Gnar Illaoi Counter Champion

Vel'Koz

He has a lot of damage, basically. He also outrangest Karma something serious. If he can land his E, then he's guaranteed to do more damage than she could ever hope to. His range ensures that he never really has to trade with her, and the amount of damage he can do gives him consistent kill pressure on her.

W – Burning Agony (Toggle)

W – Titans Wrath

E – Masochism

E – Riptide

Nautilus creates 3 waves of explosions that radiate from him, each dealing magic damage to all enemies hit and Slow icon slowing them by an amount decaying over 1.5 seconds.Enemies can be hit by multiple waves, with each wave beyond the first dealing half damage.

R – Sadism

R – Depth Charge

Nautilus sends out a depth charge that chases a Depth Charge Target target enemy champion, dealing magic damage, Airborne icon knocking them up for 1 second and stunning them on arrival. All enemies hit along the way are also dealt magic damage, are knocked up for 1 second, and are also stunned.

Our Top Counter Tips For Nautilus

A lot of Nautilus' trading potential is based on his Titans Wrath, which has an 18 second cooldown. It's significantly easier to outdamage him and gain dominant positioning in lane, and even freeze the lane in some cases given how few ways he has to unfreeze it, with no long range abilities to do so, without putting himself in harms way.

Putting minions in between you and Nautilus can win you the lane. He can't combo you if he misses his Dredge Line, and it'll collide with anything it touches, pulling him towards it and his damage is negligible if he misses an ability, without sunfire cape, meaning that early trades can be yours to take

Run away from Depth Charge. The ability has more CC than damage, and once it's over Nautilus doesn't have access to it thanks to it's cooldown being consistently longer than a minute, and as you reach the mid game, you'll be able to punish him for not having it. It also makes him harder to gank for.

Champions That Counter Nautilus

Fiora Aatrox Counter Champion

Fiora

She just wins this lane. Outdamages him in trades, and has the ability to stun him for every trade he takes by riposting his first auto attack. She also has the mobility to dodge out of his Dredge Line if she predicts it's timing correctly (It'll typically be right after he gets free of the riposte stun) as well as the ability to kill him consistently due to just how hard she beats him, and to snowball really, really hard as a result and carry the entire game herself.

Riven Nasus Counter Champion

Riven

Riven has the damage to punish Nautilus' long cooldowns, as pieces of her combo rotation will be up twice before his Titans Wrath comes back up once. Riven also has an AD scaling shield to mitigate enough of Nautilus damage to outtrade him, the mobility to chase him down, or run away from the Depth Charge, the CC to stop him from running or to stop him from chasing and the ability to snowball from her leads and carry the game.

Nasus Counter Tips 2

Nasus

He can't kill Nasus, he just doesn't have the damage to compete with Nasus lifesteal, especially without ignite. But if he takes ignite, he'll get beaten for different reasons. Nasus can just stack as long as he has the vision to ensure that he won't die to a gank, and then at 6 he becomes even less able to die. If he's been farming, he can even kill Nautilus, and naturally, Nasus can and will carry the game.

Gnar Illaoi Counter Champion

Gnar

The ability to run from the Depth Charge? Gnar has that. The ability to kill Nautilus as time goes on? Gnar has that. The ability to become a highly damaging pseudo-tank that carries the game off of solo killing Nautilus? Gnar has that too. Gnar is just generally good, and when he gets his hands on a Frozen Mallet he has serious kill pressure on a lone Nautilus and as a result, splitpush pressure too, since the top laner can no longer stop him.

Abilities

Tailwind: Increases the Movement Speed of all allied champions moving towards Janna by 8%.

Q – Infected Cleaver

Q – Howling Gale

W – Burning Agony (Toggle)

W – Zephyr

Janna summons an air elemental that passively increases her Movement Speed and enables her to pass through units. She may also activate this ability to deal damage and slow an enemy's Movement Speed. The passive is lost while this ability is on cooldown

E – Masochism

E – Eye of the Storm

Shields an allied Champion or turret for 5 seconds. The shield absorbs damage and grants Attack Damage until it breaks.

R – Sadism

R – Monsoon

Janna surrounds herself in a magical storm, throwing enemies back. After the storm has settled, soothing winds heal nearby allies while the ability is active.

Our Top Counter Tips For Janna

In lane Janna is far less powerful without her shield, and as a result so is her partner. Most AD Carries or supports can use the cooldown on the shield to harass their opponents while she doesn't have access to it.

Janna dies quickly, and provides a lot. If you see the opportunity to CC and kill her in a fight, it's usually a good idea to take it, before she can use her Monsoon to reset it for her team, however, do not do this if if you have a better pick on a higher priority target (I.E. the 11/2 Vayne)

Janna loses her movement speed bonus if she uses the active of Zephyr, baiting it out can make picking her off far easier than it would have been otherwise.

If you catch Janna using her Howling Gale in lane before six, as a duo with kill pressure, use this time to get lane dominance. She can't peel anyone off of anything without it or her ultimate and becomes a shield bot until it comes back up

Champions That Counter Janna

Azir Counter Tips 3

Brand

He just does a lot of damage from a safe enough distance to not care about anything. If he stuns either Janna or her ADC, they die, before six, and depending on how his ADC plays, even after six. He doesn't need to get on top of Janna to kill her and she doesn't like that. Once he learns Pyroclasm, there's nothing a Janna lane can do about him

Morgana Alistair Counter Champion

Morgana

Black Shield basically. She can prevent any sort of peeling or interrupting with her Black Shield, and if she lands her Dark Binding then there's just no way that a Janna lane wins the trade. She can also easily use her ultimate on Janna and her partner, since she can black shield herself to prevent any sort of CC

Jax Tryndamere Counter Champion

Blitzcrank

Janna's Q won't save her rom Blitz's Q, and Janna is too squishy to survive a grab. If Blitzcrank lands one she dies, and if he chooses to not throw one for a long time, she has to play respectfully and reasonably defensivley, preventing her from poking the Blitz lane too heavily.

Trundle Xin Zhao Counter Champion

Trundle

He can Q away her shield and the extra AD from it, and has a movement speed steroid that allows him to close gaps against Janna and her AD Carry. He can also interrupt dashes with his Pillar of Ice. His passive, Kings Tribute also prevents Janna from poking him out of lane

Banshee's Veil Cho’Gath Counter Item

Banshee's Veil

Being a support not named Brand, she doesn't do a lot of damage going into the mid and late game, and her early game damage can be mitigated by specific runepages, and whatever defensive abilities you have on your side. As the game progesses, chances are high you'll want a Banshee's Veil to avoid a knockup or slow, and/or a Randuins Omen to slow her. Frost Queens Claim is a good item to do this as well. She'll want to fight in chokes and narrow avenues, so you'll want to get pink wards and sweeping lenses to ensure that any bush ganks are seen.

Introduction

Bard is a support champion with a lot of power behind his roaming game. He's unique to other champions in that he can gain experience by not being in lane, and has a stasis ult similar to Zhonyas, that makes for excellent playmaking opportunites with picks, or saving people. Also the opportunity to ruin everything his team has worked for with that very same ultimate

Abilities

Passive – Adrenaline Rush

Passive – Travelers Call

Bard's presence causes sacred chimes to appear at random locations and linger for up to 10 minutes. Collecting a chime grants Bard bonus movement speed out of combat for 7 seconds, stacking up to 5 times, experience, and maximum mana. Every 5 chimes Bard collects empower his Meeps.

Bard's presence attracts small spirits known as Meeps to his side. Each of his basic attacks consumes a Meep, dealing bonus magic damage. At 5 Chimes, Meeps slow damaged enemies by for 1 second, and at 25 Chimes they splash the damage around the main target and in a cone behind them, with the cone's size increasing at 65 Chimes.

Q – Infected Cleaver

Q – Cosmic Binding

Bard fires a burst of spirit energy in the target direction, dealing magic damage to the first enemy struck and briefly slowing them by 60%.

After Cosmic Binding hits an enemy, the burst of energy passes through them and searches for secondary targets. If it hits a wall or a second enemy, it stuns both targets for the same duration, dealing the same magic damage to the second target as well

W – Burning Agony (Toggle)

W – Caretakers Shrine

Bard conjures a shrine at the target location that builds up in power over 10 seconds, up to 3 shrines active at once, which remain until consumed when a champion steps on them.

If the champion was an ally or Bard himself, they are healed for an amount based on the shrine's power and gain 50% bonus movement speed that decays over 1.5 seconds

E – Masochism

E – Magical Journey

Bard opens a one-way magical corridor through a piece of terrain in the target direction for 10 seconds. Magical Journey will not cast unless it can open a corridor.

Both allies and enemies can pass through the corridor by right-clicking on it or its exit, with allies and Bard travelling at increased speed.

R – Sadism

R – Tempered Fate

Bard sends magical energy arcing to the target location, putting all units and structures in the target area into stasis for 2.5 seconds upon impact.

Despite normally being immune to crowd control, epic monsters and turrets (excluding the Nexus Obelisk) also enter stasis

Our Top Counter Tips For Bard

Bard roams a lot, and is very squishy. If you find him out of position, there isn't much he can do before he's bursted. Unless he has a Magical Journey up.

Don't follow the Magical Journey. It'll usually lead to a trip into grey secreen.

Try not to stand near towers during sieges, chances are high that bard will ult them, and you with them, leaving your team down a champion when they get engaged on.

CC Will follow Bard and other through the magical journey, and will effect them on the other side. Use this to punish people for thinking they can escape with just a portal

Azir Counter Tips 3

Blitzcrank

Did you leave? Your carry is dead. Even in lane, Bard still has to be wary of Blitz's kill potential, since, barring a really good Q he has no way to save himself or his carry

Yasuo

Thresh

A lot like Blitzcrank, except you can't Q him to save yourself or your carry. He'll hook to flay to giving his carry the kill, and that'll be the end of the conversation

Jax Tryndamere Counter Champion

Draven

You locked in Draven, Bard can no longer leave lane. Ever. Draven will just kill your carry over and over with his support and that's not good for Bard or anyone on his team

LeBlanc Anivia Counter Champion

Leona

She can just kill the carry if he leaves, and kill him if he stays. There really isn't anything Bard can do in a lane against Leona, and it honestly isn't a pick anyone should take against a half decent Leona

Itemization

The only really important thing to get against Bard is wards. He won't build damage, but he will roam a lot, so wards are what will save you from that. Wards will help you catch him out, wards will you see his ult coming. Wards are what nullify bards effectiveness to a degree, and stop him from actually carrying his team from the support position.

Introduction

Annie is a burst mage with built in CC and medium range abilities. She has the potential to have an AOE or targeted stun. This gives her a strong laning phase, and makes her easy to gank for. While also ensuring that she will be relevant in teamfights and skirmishes. She has the ability to last hit with her Q which refunds mana, adding to her laning strength and the presence she can continue to have.

Abilities

Passive – Adrenaline Rush

Passive – Pyromania

Pyromania: After casting four abilities, Annie's next damaging ability Stun icon stuns enemies it damages for 1.25 / 1.5 / 1.75 seconds.

Q – Infected Cleaver

Q – Disintegrate

Annie hurls a fireball at the target enemy, dealing magic damage. If Disintegrate kills its target, it refunds its mana cost and half of its cooldown is immediately refreshed.

W – Burning Agony (Toggle)

W – Incinerate

Annie releases a cone of fire in the target direction, dealing magic damage to all enemies in the area.

E – Masochism

E – Molten Shield

Annie wraps herself and Tibbers in a fiery aura, reducing damage taken for the next 3 seconds. Enemies who use basic attacks on Annie during this time are also dealt magic damage.

R – Sadism

R – Summon Tibbers

FIRST CAST: Annie summons Tibbers. Tibbers to the target location in a burst of flame, dealing magic damage to all enemies in the area. He then remains on the field as a controllable minion for up to 45 seconds.

SECOND CAST: While Tibbers is active, Summon: Tibbers can be used to move him to the target location.

Our Top Counter Tips For Annie

Buying a QSS is paramount. Annie does a lot of damage, but if you survive the burst, her healthisn't high enough to survive a real fight Pre-ROA, if she decides to build it.

Annie is relatively low range among mages. Picking a champion that can abuse this can hand you an easy laning phase.

It's best to kill Tibbers while Annie is CC'd, that way he doesn't become enraged and she can't kill you while you kill him.

Teamfighting phase with Annie involved requires burning her burst on a frontliner. If you canengage on Annie as something like an Alistar, you typically win your team the fight. Even if it turn sout to be a 1 for 1.

LANE DOMINANCE

Syndra

Syndra

The only thing Annie can do that Syndra has to watch out for is cry for ganks. Syndra hasa longer range, more burst and as if that wasn't enough, she has a better voiceover too (We allknow it). This is basically just a case of one champion doing the same thing another one does, but way better.

Darius Dr Mundo Counter Champion

Kassadin

She can't trade with his Q. Which he's maxing. If she doesn't kill him before 6. he's just going to be better. He'll gank other lanes, or just kill her. She can't run away, or kill him without help. Kassadin is just a ban, for people who play Annie.

Xerath Azir Counter Champion

Xerath

She can't trade with him without walking past the lanes halfway point, he outranges herand can just ruin her day from a mile and a half away. He never has to be in range of her stun, and if he decides to take cleanse or barrier he just never dies at all.

Maokai Dr Mundo Counter Champion

Kog'Maw

Her only hope is pre-6. If Kog'Maw doesn't die before 6, then he's going to kite her with Ooze and smack her in the face with his ultimate. Then as he grows in level, he'll just usedenhanced autos and range to kill her over and over. Take barrier.

Banshees Veil, QSS and Mikaels are all good buys against Annie. Basically anything that givesMR and/or erases CC. For champions that do a lot of damage very quickly, Duskblade ofDraktharr can be a good buy, since her health is so low that a few abilities can erase her quickly.Zhonyas is a strong item against her, despite the armor on it. The active is so effective againstflash-tibbers stun (The stun is spent and the bear spawns) that it still has value, not to mentionthat it has value against any enemy AD's as well.

Introduction

Like any other king, Trundle is oppressive. If you’re a tank, he’s going to steal your stats and use his lifesteal to heal up any damage you can do. If you’re squishy, he can deal tons of damage. If you’re slow he’ll run you down like an animal.

If behind, he has great utility with his ult and his pillar. If you harass him, he’ll heal up from simple farming. If ahead, he can 1v2 or assassinate an ADC in a team fight. Honestly, he’s probably going to be nerfed soon.

Trundle is a fast tanky fighter with great utility, great dueling potential, and good damage. In order to exploit his weaknesses, I’ll be helping you in this guide to stop this troll from ever doing his stupid dance again.

Abilities

Passive – Contempt for the Weak

Passive – King's Tribute

Whenever an enemy dies around him, he heals for a percentage of their max health

Q – Razor Shuriken

Q – Chomp

Trundle’s next basic attack does extra damage, steals ad, and slows.

W – Living Shadow

W – Frozen Domain

Trundle creates a zone in which he gains movement speed, attack speed, and extra healing from all sources.

E – Shadow Slash

E – Pillar of Ice

Trundle projects a pillar of ice, slowing all enemies around it.

R – Death Mark

R – Subjugate

Trundle deals magic damage to an enemy champion, healing for the amount of damage dealt. He also steals a good amount of their armor and magic resistance.

Our Top Counter Tips For Trundle

Trundle steals your stats, so try to never duel him once he’s past level 6. Even if you’ve gotten a few kills, he’ll be able to just ult you and turn around a fight

Trundle isn’t the fastest at pushing, so keeping him pushed up to his turret and pressuring his turret fast is a decent strategy if you aren’t afraid of his pillar or ganks.

Save your dashes to dash over his pillar, as it’s impassible terrain.

Use your defensive buffs after he ults you, or he’ll be even stronger.

Healing reduction will stop him from healing from his passive and ult.

LANING PHASE

Darius Counter Tips 1

Darius

Early game you should be able to outtrade him. Be very careful of his Chomp stealing your AD. If he chomps a minion, be sure to land a few auto attacks. If you land a full Hemorrhage, you should be able to kill him. Build more AD than resistances and try to dominate him before he gets level 6.

Jax Tryndamere Counter Champion

Jax

You can dodge the entirety of his damage with your E. Be careful about using your ult until after he’s used his own. Be sure to build up full stacks of your passive before trading with him. Build Blade of the Ruined King first.

MIDGAME

Kennen

Kennen

You have no resistances to steal, so he won’t be as tanky from you in the midgame. Your stun stops him very effectively. Harass him in lane, but realize that after a few levels you won’t be able to hurt him very much. Focus on getting farm so you can kill other lanes with your teleport. Never let him catch you or you’ll instantly die. Build Zhonya’s first.
